FOTD - It's A Classic for a Reason...

After seeing 'Graphite' in the new Sleek MakeUP palette, I was itching to do a classic smokey look with a bit of shimmer. I usually only go for silvery smokey eyes when I'm wearing black, but I think they work better with grey...maybe because they're so similar? What do you think?

[ Oh, natural lighting, why did I ever leave you? ]

EYES - TFSI, Sleek 'Showstoppers' palette (Graphite, Noir, Ultra Mattes V.2, Bad Girl), Natural Collection 'Seashell', MUA liquid eyeliner, Collection pencil eyeliner, mascara.

FACE - Maybelline 'Fit Me' foundation, 17 liquid concealer (this is bobbins, don't buy it), MUFE 92 eyeshadow as powder, No. 7 highlighting powder, The Balm 'Frat Boy' blush.

LIPS - Mix of MAC 'Angel' and 'Creme d'Nude'

Perhaps a bit much for an evening in with the boyfriend, but hey, why not?!

Now I'm off to catch up on whatever the blogosphere has been up to over night/ this morning, then trudging my way through writing some more on an essay which has taken me FOREVER. Usually I finish essays within about 2 - 3 days, just power through - I actually like writing them. This latest one, however...three weeks -_-

Silvery smokey eyes - better worn with black or grey? Are you counting down the days to Summer break, too?

FOTD - Purple Mints

Yesterday I sorted out the utter mess that was my eyeshadow drawer and figured it would make sense to put a few to use! I utterly love this mint blue/ green MUFE shade which I picked up at IMATS, it pairs so nicely with my usual purples...

EYES - TFSI, NYX 'Milk' jumbo pencil, MUFE '93', MUA shade 12, Urban Decay 'Mayhem', Darling Girl Cosmetics 'April Love', Fyrinnae 'Moon Child', Darling Girl Cosmetics 'Apparition', Kryolan flesh coloured pencil eyeliner, Collection 2000 felt tip eyeliner, mascara.

FACE - Collection 2000 'Lasting Perfection' concealer, No.7 'Beautifully Matte' foundation, Collection 2000 powder, The Balm 'Frat Boy' blush, No.7 highlighting powder.

LIPS - MAC 'Honeylove' lipstick, New CID gloss.

Isn't the silvery shade (Darling Girl Cosmetics 'Apparition') kick-ass? It's so gorgeous in person, brilliant silver with multi-coloured sparkles. If you're a fan of Shiro Cosmetics 'Master Sword', I'd definitely recommend 'Apparition' - they're very similar shades, but 'Apparition' is more silver.

(P.S) I'm fading my hair dye, so that's why it looks murky green right now!

FOTD - We Are Stardust

'Allo colour! I've missed you! I've been dying to do this look for weeks, but was back home in Manchester and had left all my BRIGHT eyeshadows a uni. I used to love this kind of look when I was just getting into make-up, it's kinda a blast from the past...

Ahaha, I love how you can tell how freakin' wonky my nose is now I have my nostrils pierced. Check it out in the fourth picture down, holy cow. Before you say, it's not badly placed piercings - my nose twists slightly to one side.

EYES - UDPP, Yaby white, Ben Nye 'Fuchsia' blush, MUFE 92, MUFE 102, Yaby black, Collection 2000 felt tip eyeliner, Barry M pencil eyeliner.

FACE - Collection 2000 'Lasting Perfection' concealer, No.7 'Beautifully Matte' foundation, Ben Nye natural pink blush, Fyrinnae 'Centre Stage' highlight, Collection 2000 face powder.

LIPS - MAC 'Honeylove' and a random brandless pink-gold lippy.

Then I swapped the lips for Stargazer 130 lipstick - which is a touch darker and less blue than the photo suggests. It's basically just incredible - if you're a purple lipstick fan, you need this in your life!

What's the brightest eyeshadow you own? How do you wear it?

IMATS 2012 Purchases

A few of you wanted to know what I picked up at IMATS, so here's a quick little overview! I didn't buy much since I can't stand crowds or queues, which is a shame, but I'm really happy with what did pick up :)

First I bought a few pencils from NYX, I wanted a few more eyeliners but nobody around the display fancied making any room for me to look - I literally had to grab them from over people's shoulders! I waited until the crowd around the MUFE stand died down before buying the most gorgeous mint green eyeshadow along with a lovely, yellow toned highlight shade. I'd been eyeing up the Real Techniques 'Core Collection' for a while and snagged it for around £16 - bargain!

What did you pick up at IMATS?

FOTD - Illamasqua Theatre of the Nameless Promo Look

Illamasqua ALWAYS have amazing promo images when they launch their new collections. The make-up is flawless, the stories behind them spot on and the models aren't always your typical conventional beauties. The promo pics for their latest collection, The Theatre of the Nameless is no exception! I fancied attempting my favourite look, which you can see on the collection's page as the main image.

GETCHA FIERCE AAWN.

EYES - TFSI, Darling Girl Glitter Glue, Stargazer red glitter shaker, Yaby 'Abyss', MUFE 92, Ben Nye red colour pan, Fyrinnae 'Centre Stage' highlighter, MAC 'Reflects Blackened Red' glitter, misc falsies from Savers, Urban Decay 'Lucky' pencil eyeliner, mascara, Sleek black, Illamasqua sealing gel.

FACE - Mix of foundations and highlight fluid, MUFE 92, Ben Nye natural pink blush, Ben Nye 'Fuchsia' blush, Fyrinnae 'Centre Stage' highlighter.

LIPS - Mix of Sleek Pout Paints in hot pink, blue and white.

I gave my version more of a winged shape than Illamasqua's because...well, because I like winged shapes! I really love all the glitter, Disney villain eyebrows and gradient lips. My sister thinks I look terrifying, "Stay in your there or I'll hit you with a broom!" *slams door* At least I'm enjoying it, though haha :)

The nails are Barry M 'Racing Green', the necklace is from River Island if anyone was curious!

What are your favourite picks from Illamasqua's 'Theatre of the Nameless' collection? I'm lusting after 'Kontrol' lipstick and 'Facade' gloss!

FOTD - The Mermen and The Moon Child

This started off as one of those 'it looked better in my head' FOTDs...y'know, the kind where as you're going along you're hoping it will improve. I always continue with those, instead of wiping it off, because usually after adding eyeliner, mascara and eyebrows it looks better than you imagined it would!

EYES - UDPP, Nyx 'Milk' jumbo pencil, Fyrinnae 'OMGWTF', Fyrinnae 'Mermen',, Sleek 'Bad Girl' palette, Fyrinnae 'Moon Child', MAC 'Nylon', Illamasqua gel sealant, MUFE 92, MAC 'Vanilla' pigment, Kryolan white pencil eyeliner, random falsies.

FACE - Collection 2000 'Matt + Minerals', Kryolan 'Ultra Foundation' as concealer, Kryolan powder, Ben Nye warm rust blush.

LIPS - MAC 'Honeylove', Darling Girl 'Goldfinger' hologloss.

Sometimes I catch myself thinking, 'Maybe I should try another nude instead of Honeylove...' since I've been wearing it almost daily for the last four years! Then I think, 'Why try and fix what aint broken?!' Heck, I love it. I'd also forgotten how much of a gorgeous colour Fyrinnae 'Mermen' is, though it was discontinued and replaced with a shade called 'Adam and Steve's'...which I now can't find on the Fyrinnae site...Oops. I went there. I made you want the teal you can not have - MUAHAHAHAHA!

FOTD - Sky Blue and 'That' Purple

A while ago on Twitter, I asked for some eyeshadow colour combination ideas. I'll admit, sometimes I just can't be bothered thinking for myself and you guys do a great job of doing it for me! Anyway, somebody suggested turquoise and purple (who was it?) and I thought immediately of one of my favourite eyeshadow combos...

EYES - UDPP, Nyx 'Milk' jumbo pencil, MAC 'Clear Sky Blue', MUFE 92, MAC 'Entremauve', Sassy Minerals 'Sensible Shoes', Kryolan liquid eyeliner, GOSH pencil eyeliner, random falsies, Sleek black, Sleek indigo, purple glitter.

FACE - Kryolan Ultra Foundation as concealer, Collection 2000 Matt + Minerals foundation, a mish mash of about five different blushes (no idea why), Kryolan powder.

LIPS - MAC 'Blankety' lippy, GOSH 'Darling' lippy, Taxi London 'Mile End' gloss

Aint sky blue and shocking purple just one of the best colour combinations ever in existance of the whole entire Universe? I think so. I hope I can buy a full size of MAC 'Clear Sky Blue' one day because it is hands down my favourite pigment!

Have you got a favourite MAC pigment? Or a favourite sky blue eyeshadow?

FOTD - Bright Purple Fishnets

Felt a bit dramatic and colourful - so what better to reach for than the infamous MUFE 92? I added some pink glitter for fun; I would have popped some falsies on, but the light was dying and I wasn't feeling brave enough for a blind falsie application!

[[ So bright! ]]

[[ Matches my zebra plug :D ]]

EYES - UDPP, MUFE 92, UD 'Fishnet', MAC 'Nylon', Kryolan liquid eyeliner, Avon glitter eyeliner, MAC pink glitter, Kryolan white pencil eyeliner, mascara.

FACE - GOSH primer, Kryolan cream foundation, Collection 2000 matte foundation, Sleek cream foundation, Rimmel powder, Topshop 'Neon Rose' blush, Ben Nye pink blush

LIPS - MAC 'Blankety' lipstick

Anyone have any tips for a good base to use with MUFE 92? UDPP doesn't help with how patchy it gets and  over a cream base it becomes next to impossible to blend. With mixing medium it loses its vibrancy :/ I'm willing to overlook patchiness for such a stunning colour, though!

(P.S) Sorry for primarily FOTDs lately, I've been busy with college work. Day off tomorrow and I have plenty of reviews to write up!

FOTD - To the Carnival...

I should be researching the golden ratio, perspectives and dadaism, but I find them all quite dull. As you may know, I'm currently doing an art and design foundation degree - so far we've spent three weeks drawing and not much else...Yesterday we drew plain boxes and pillars (with no shading allowed) from 9-30am to 4pm. As you can imagine, it was rather uninspiring! Next week we're doing textiles, then I think visual communications (looove) and then photography (love even mooore), so it's not all bad :)

ANYWAY. You're not in the least bit interested in my education, are you? No. So lets see what powders and liquids I've been putting on my face...

EYES - UDPP, Hi-Fi primer, MAC 'Melon' pigment, Darling Girl 'Kindle', Darling Girl 'Frolic', MUFE 92, Fyinnae 'Oberon', MAC 'Vanilla' pigment, Heavenly Naturals 'Hummingbird', Kryolan liquid eyeliner, mascara.

FACE - Barbie concealer (I kid you not), Collection 2000 matte foundation, Sleek cream foundation, Rimmel powder, Darling Girl 'Carnival' blush.

LIPS - MAC 'Honeylove' lipstick

Darling Girl 'Carnival' is such a funky, pigmented, blush and I'm liking it rather a lot. I didn't think I would at first, since it has a slight pink duochrome and sheen and I usually wear matte blush, but it really perked up my complexion. MAC 'Honeylove' - never ever going to stop buying this lipstick! 'Tis my favourite nude and I love it with warm looks.

Have you found a product you're surprised you like lately?

FOTD - Sex, Drugs, Rock 'n' Roll

Unfortunately my day contained none of the above...other than the Hi-Fi 'shadow of the same name. Nevertheless, this look was pretty bright and fun! The Darling Girl colours work really well with the Hi-Fi primer - it sure brought the true wonder of 'Peace' to light!

[[ Somehow this colour combo always reminds me of mermaids.... ]]

EYES - UDPP, Hi-Fi eyeshadow base, Darling Girl 'Grotto', Darling Girl 'Peace', Hi-Fi 'Sex, Drugs, Rock 'n' Roll', MUFE 92, Fyrinnae 'Oberon', Sassy Minerals 'Under-rated', Heavenly Naturals 'Bubbles', Kryolan liquid eyeliner, natural Collection pencil eyeliner, mascara.

FACE - GOSH primer, collection 2000 matte foundation, Sleek cream foundation, Rimmel powder, Darling Girl 'Penelope', Darling Girl 'Paradise Pink'

LIPS - MAC 'Blankety', Jemma Kidd pink gloss

Darling Girl 'Grotto' is such a strange and interesting colour, I'm not sure whether it's yellow, green or gold! It looks totally different in synthetic and natural light, and quite different in the bag to on the lid. I seem to be adding Heavenly Naturals 'Bubbles' to everything lately - but look how beautifully it photographs!

Any colour combos/ make-up styles you'd like to see from me?
