FOTD - Sunshine in Bermuda

Well, this started as a jelly bean inspired look since I have THE MOST AWESOME jelly bean notebook...buuut I didn't have any greens that would work with it. No loss though since it ended up fiery, sunny and bright!

[[ I should really buy new plugs, right? ]]

[[ I love me some jewels. ]]

[[ Also need a hair cut. ]]

EYES - TFSI, High Voltage Cosmetics High Impact Shadow Fix, Makeup Enigma 'Sunshine', Fyrinnae 'Chlorophyll', Ben Nye 'Fuchsia' blush, Ben Nye red blush, MAC 'Fairylite' pigment, Fyrinnae 'Rapunzel Had Extensions', random faslies (sorry, don't know the brand), Kryolan black liquid eyeliner, Soap & Glory 'Arch de Triumph', nail gems.

FACE - Collection 2000 Matt + Minerals, Kryolan ultra foundation, Accessorize 'Bermuda' blush, Ben Nye 'Fuchsia' blush, Sleek universal powder, Fyrinnae 'Rapunzel Had Extensions'.

LIPS - Kryolan 'Natural' lip pencil, Taxi London 'Mile End' gloss, MAC 'Blankety' lipstick.

My Dad even complimented this look - well, sort of. He told me I looked like a clown, but the eyes were nice. Believe me, that's a compliment of the highest order coming from my Dad about makeup. I wish I knew which brand these falsies were, I got them from Savers and idiotically threw the outer sleeve away for some unknown reason.

FOTD - The Darling Heart Throb...

I like duochrome. I like red-brown. I like green. I like turquoise. I like High Voltage 'Heart Throb'.

[[ Looks amazing over black! ]]

[[ Remind me to lower my ISO settings next time - holy flash, Batman! ]]

[[ Rare full on face shot haha ]]

Ask and ye shall receive huge pictures. My God, the terrible state of my hair is even more evident to you guys, now. I'm pretty sure the only way to save it would be to shave it off and start again - my boyfriend has banned me from 'doing a Britney', though :P

EYES - UDPP, Yaby black,  High Voltage 'Heart Throb', High Voltage 'Champagne supernova', ELF cream eyeliner, mascara, Natural Collection pencil eyeliner.

FACE - Revlon Photoready foundation, Collection 2000 Matt + Minerals, Sleek cream foundation (yes I DO like to mix my base!), Kryolan cream foundation (as concealer), Sassy Minerals finishing powder in 'Medium', Ben Nye terracotta and natural blush.

LIPS - Natural Collection 'Almond' lipliner, GOSH 'Darling' lipstick (thanks Jane!).

It's like 'Club' and 'Old Gold' went on a mad acid trip and spawned a love child they chose to name 'Heart Throb'. Seriously though - if you're a fan of those MAC cult classics, you'd love this High Voltage shade! So easy to play it down for daytime wear or get all crazy with it for a night time look.

Thoughts? Still liking big pictures? Oooh. And I'm off to buy new foundation and waterproof mascara tomorrow, anything you think I should check out? I think I'll buy another Collection 2000 foundation after being so impressed with Natural Matt + Minerals :)

FOTD - A Storm at Sea...

I love wearing blue eyeshadow, somehow I never wear it out though...even to clubs and such. I think it's because blue eyeshadow, no matter how well applied, makes everyone do a bit of a double take - more so than any other colours. Maybe because of its old school reputation as being a colour choice purely for scary old women or equally scary 'ladies of the night'...

[[ Pretty blues! ]]

[[ Oh, 'Honeylove', how I adore thee. ]]

EYES - UDPP, Hi-Fi eyeshadow base, High Voltage 'In Loving Memory', High Voltage 'Faith', High Voltage 'Solar Power', High Voltage 'Champagne Supernova', Yaby indigo, Kryolan liquid eyeliner, Kryolan pencil eyeliner, mascara.

FACE - Revlon Colourstay, Sleek cream foundation, Topshop 'Nutmeg' blush, Rimmel 'Stay Matte' powder.

LIPS - MAC 'Honeylove' and a touch of High Voltage 'Pretty in Pink'

'Faith' is so awesome - sky blues are a weakness of mine but it's rare to find one with a lovely, creamy formula - can't wait to pair it with MUFE 92! I'll order a full size if I can...

Swatches - High Voltage Cosmetics

I've been eyeing High Voltage Cosmetics for quite some time, their colours look gorgeous and complex, plus - I've never read a bad review. After chit-chatting a couple of times to the creator, Jasmine on Twitter (@_High_Voltage_) I decided I'd much rather send my money to a lovely, friendly lady with a love of cosmetics than to a 'faceless' company - just shows how keeping in touch with your audience can be worthwhile - take note, faceless companies!

[[ Solar Power, Hot Rockin', Heart Throb, Little Misfit ]]

Solar Power is a deep, shimmering, midnight grey-blue with a touch of purple over a dark base - great for lining and smokey looks. Hot Rockin' is a golden, herbal green over a dark base, a sophisticated colour I can imagine 'nearly neutral' lovers enjoying. Heart Throb and Little Misfit are so similar, I'd go as far as to say that they are more or less the same - both have the same blood red-brown base with green duochrome, only Heart Throb's duochrome is much stronger.

[[ Perfect 10, Faith, Believe in Yourself, Champagne Supernova, In Loving Memory]]

Perfect 10 is a brown taupe with slight gold and silver shimmer - I imagine taupe lovers would go CRAZY over this shade, it is truly beautiful and unique. Faith is a sky blue with fine silver shimmer and a soft pearl finish, when I swatched it, it reminded me of a slightly darker MAC 'Sky Blue' - my favourite loose pigment. Believe in Yourself is a red-peach with slight shimmer which swatched MUCH darker over Hi-Fi base than it did over UDPP, either way it's a pretty colour. As a Mancunian and Oasis fan, I had to buy Champagne Supernova, which is a golden-cream, perfect for highlighting - not a clue as to why it photographed purpley! In Loving Memory is a pearly white, I imagine those with pale skintones would enjoy this as a highlight shade.

Note - Faith, Believe in Yourself and In Loving Memory are all part of the Awareness Collection, 10% of each sale will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure - a charity which supports those with breast cancer and strives to help in finding a cure. They were included as free samples.

[[ Pretty in Pink ]]

Pretty in Pink is MUCH darker and redder in real life than the swatch picture on the site. On the site, it shows as a creamy, pale salmon pink - swatched it shows as a medium neutral brown toned red-pink, entirely different, I'm sure you'll agree. Worn, this is a 'my lips but better' shade for me, which I don't tend to wear, but I'm sure my mum will like it!

Overall, I like everything I bought, but I'm a bit baffled Pretty in Pink. It's not exactly what I expected. I understand how hard it can be to accurately photograph make-up, but it's not just the photo that don't match what I received - it's the description, too. Either way, I'm not too fussed - it's still pretty!

** Update 25/ 10. High Voltage read about 'Pretty in Pink' and it figures that it was mislabelled. Jasmine offered to send another - top customer service!
