Starting Project 10 Pan...or Jar...or Bottle...

Most of you have probably heard of 'Project 10 Pan' or something similar before - the 'rules' are easy, hit pan on 10 pans of make-up before you can buy any more. Now, I actually want to go a step further and EMPTY 15 jars/ pans before I buy any more! Considering I've had a few jars of mineral eyeshadow for five years (I know, hygiene Nazis, shoot me now) which are nowhere near finished, it might take a while!

[[ I will be working my way through these eyeshadows...]]

[[ ...these glitters...]]

[[ ...these face products...]]

Why? Because I'll be moving in August and want to limit myself to a couple of desk top organizers of make-up before I go - imagine moving all of this! Six months might seem an age away, but it really isn't in terms of getting through make-up! Any PR items I receive up until August will most likely be given to friends and family after the review - unless I fall in love with them, of course ;]

Have you done project 10 pan before? How did it go? Are you thinking of starting it?

Wish me luck!

  1. I hadn't actually heard of that before, but it's a pretty good idea. I have tons of loose shadows which I probably will never finish. but I keep seeing all these new pretty colours from different companies that I want to buy :( haha. I might try this though!

  3. Good luck! I imagine mineral makeup will be so hard to use up as it lasts forever... unless you spill it lol!

  4. Good luck! I tried to do a Project 10 Pan last year but gave it up when I realised how long it was going to take me to use up the products. I definitely want to give it another go soon. x

  5. I've actually just completed a Project 10 Pan but I also included skin care products in my challenge so maybe it was a bit too easy :)

  6. Now I don't feel so bad about still having my mineral makeup forever.

  7. That is a good idea, I guess by going through your bags and drawers you might find make up for forgot you had, or you ll rediscover a love for a product you forgot about.

  8. I've heard of people doing this. I haven't ever tried this my self. I have been trying to use up my skin care items, but not necessarily my makeup! Good luck! Keep us updated on how this is going!

  9. I've never heard of this, but I've thought about trying to empty a bottle of polish; never, ever done so before. Thanks for this post :-)

  11. I've tried before but there's always something so pretty that breaks my resolve, kind of like when you decide to go on a diet and instantly start craving cookies :S

  12. I haven't used up enough of some stuff to do a proper project 10 pan, but I do have some stuff that needs to be used for sure! I'm just trying to make sure I use my stash.

  13. Good luck reducing the stash! I'm kind of on a project 10 pan, I haven't picked 10 products though I just have to use 10 things before I buy anymore. Luckily I'm bound to use at least 5 things soonish or I'd go mad if it took ages!

  14. I'm doing a similar project 15 jar/bottle/pan etc, and I too have to completely use it up before I can buy something new. But I'm doing it on all cosmetics. I have actually used up quite a few things so far (I started in January), but only one make-up item.

Good luck using up all that! Make-up lasts absolutely ages, unless it's something you use every time like foundation and concealer and finishing powder. It's much easier to use up lotions and shower gels and soap, though lipsticks can go down fairly quickly if you wear them regularly.

  15. Thats a good idea, I think I should try that. It's going to be hard for me to finish them but it will save me money. :)

  17. I've had Glamour Doll Eyes' Monster Mash forever and still haven't used it properly in a look! Can't wait to see some ideas!

  18. The problem I have with this kind og thing is that if I like an item enough to use it up I'll want to rebuy it! And if I dont like it enough to rebuy it I dont want to use it that often.
