Urban Decay Goddess of Mayhem

The first Urban Decay 'Book of Shadows' is a palette I tend to ignore...like all my UD palettes, if I'm honest! Urban Decay's colours don't really WOW me - yes, they're nicely pigmented, but none are particularly special or complex. Anyway, I flung this on and figured I'd use a little duochrome goodness to add some interest :)

EYES - UDPP, Natural Collection black eyeliner, UD 'Goddess', UD 'Mayhem', Yaby indigo blue, Fyrinnae 'Moon Child', mascara.

FACE - Revlon Photoready and a random Maybelline foundation (mixed), Ben Nye pink blush, Mad Minerals 'Red Opal', Sassy Minerals finishing powder.

LIPS - Fyrinnae Shangri-la lip lustre, custom mixed gloss.

Are you an Urban Decay eyeshadow lover?

  5. Beautiful colours and such amazing blending too.

I'm not really a UD fan, I had a palette many years ago (was mix of lip and eyeshadows) and I learned that although the colours were nice, they were a bit of glitter explosion. Although I often look at the newer palettes and admire the colours I've never actually gone as far as buying one.

  6. You know, now that I think about it my UD palettes get more use as a mirror than for the shadows. They are really nice in texture and pigment but I never find myself reaching for them. I used to consider myself quite the fan but since finding companies like Fyrinnae I'm not so much anymore. For high end eyeshadow though they are rather lovely, just not worth the cost as I consider most high end eyeshadow.

  11. @ BLIX, really?! I just assumed everybody had haha. I've got my eye on one of their shades called 'Lounge', it's a red-brown with blue-green duochrome. I'm not so much of a fan of the 24/7 liners, they barely show up on me :/ They make nice bases, though!

@ Liloo, thanks! I used Yaby indigo over UD 24/7 liner 'Peace' for the waterline :)

@ Jess, thanks! Blue smokey looks are some of my faves.

@ Sue, thanks, I've taken to using eyeshadows onthe waterline these days. Saves on buying different coloured pencils!

@ Modesty Brown, yep, many are glitter showers. Most are really frosty and glitter free though. If you ever feel like checking any out, the neutrals, like 'Toasted' and metallic shadesare lovely.

@ L0verlada, ahaha, I'm exactly the same! I think indie companies like Fyrinnae spoil us a bit these days! If ever I spot a high end shadow I like, I look for dupes from indie companies before taking the plunge!

@ Michelle, thanks, welcome to the blog :)

@ Cupcake, haha, it looks that way! I'm surprised though, most people LOVE UD eyeshadows!

@ Makeup Zombie, aw, thank you! I started following your blog yesterday :) Love all the swatch posts!

    @ Jonna, thanks, beaut'!

  12. You always manage to pull out some kind of really awesome dreamy eotd. Sadly, I haven't been able to really spring on any UD shadows. Nothing has really caught my eye except for the recent Naked palette of course. But then again, I can't get my hands on one of those anyways..

  13. @ mytigerlily, haha, thanks! I think UD do the best neutrals, so the Naked palette is probably the best they'll have. It isn't LE, so I wouldn't worry about getting your hands on it once the hype dies down :)
