Recently I've been enamoured with red eyeshadow - whether it's firey hot or dark and vampy, I haven't been able to take my mind off it. I blame the Pixiwoo sisters, whenever they use red tones with their cool bluey greeny greyish eyes my brain goes a bit loopy - it must be love, right?
Oh, say 'Hi' to my new wig, too! I wont link you to where I bought it exactly because they sent the wrong style and colour *rolls eyes* I had to cut and steam style it myself (hence the slightly dodgy fringe) to make it wearable.
See how red kinda brings out the yellowy green rings in my iris? Red seriously works with any eye colour, it's just a case of finding something to suit your skin tone.
OOH! I have a shiny new hat, too, I figured it was about time I bought one. New Look to the rescue with this £4.99 slouchy, bobble hat :)
EYES - TFSI, Sleek Ultra Mattes V2 Darks palette 'Maple', 'Dune', 'Highness', 'Noir' and 'Pillow Talk', Stargazer red pearl eyeshadow, mascara, UD 'Lucky' eyeliner.
FACE - No.7 'Beautifully Matte' foundation, Collection 2000 'Lasting Perfection' concealer, Stargazer bronzer.
LIPS - MAC 'Honeylove'.
A bit old school in personal style since this is something I'd have worn pretty often when I was about 15, but oldies are often the best. What do you think to red eyeshadow? What kind of make-up did you wear when you were 15?

I love red eyeshadow. It's my favorite color to wear to really bring out my brown eyes! PS - I am obsessed with your Jack Daniels shirt.
ReplyDeleteI've been looking for an affordable red eyeshadow for ages, I'll start looking for Stargazer now, thanks for the inspiration. It really suits you, great post!
ReplyDeleteTo be honest I still do the same makeup I did when I was 15, I've just learned how to blend and manage my concealer better!

I think my first red eyeshadow was fyrinnae Bite me. I still have a hell load left. LOVE LOVE. one of the best companies you have ever introduced me to chuck aha
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing! I love red eyeshadow although it's a bit controversial it's one of my favorite shades to wear. I wrote about it on my blog a while ago: http://beelovesbeauty.com/2012/02/25/red-or-undead-red-eyeshadow-action/
ReplyDeleteYou're reminded me I haven't tried out the red shade in the Sleek Glory Palette yet though I've had it for weeks - now I'm all excited about it, thanks!
Such a gorgeous colour, it suits you :) When I was 15, I wore too much black eyeliner and black eyeshadow. I didn't really know how to put make-up on, so I just slapped it on. It was not a good look. x

Oh that's soooo beautiful! I have almost the same tone red in eyeshadow, but haven't used it in a while :O This inspires me to try it again!
ReplyDelete♥ Noora
Gorgeous! I'm a big fan of red eyeshadow too ;(

Gorgeous color! I love how well you make it look with your eye color!
ReplyDeleteBoston Princess
That is totally gorgeous! I love a good dark red, it always makes me think vampy 1920s eyes! Also I totally wouldn't know that was a wig, it looks excellent.

you are rocking the red eyeshadow girl !! totally love it :D
ReplyDeleteYou are so pretty, I think I need to start using my red shadows again xx
ReplyDeleteYes to red! Sugarpill Love+, the red from Sleek Sunset and Fyrinnae Bite Me are my faves.
ReplyDeleteThat looks amazing. You did a great job with the wig, too.
ReplyDeleteOh God, when I was 15 I was into turquoise mascara and pink eyeshadow....but it *was* the late 80s, early 90s.
This is SO HOT. I frigging love red eyeshadow as well, it's a shame most people are too afraid to wear it because when done right, it looks so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was 15, pretty much the only makeup I wore was black pencil on the waterline and mascara - shocking!
i love the look! :) xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love red and you used it great. Those brows are amazing, jealous.
ReplyDeleteYou look awesome with long hair and red eye shadow. They suit you so well.
ReplyDeleteLove the eyeshadow!
ReplyDeleteIf you don't mind me asking, why do you wear a wig? xx
@ Mandy, it's awesome, right?! Brown eyes are so versatile and complex.
ReplyDelete@ Ali, this Stargazer eyeshadow is one of the pearl ones in a single pan :) It's a bit bronzey, but it's still pretty!
@ Lolli, yay! Fyrinnae love <3
@ Beetourist, controversial things are usually the most fun :P Red really works with your eye colour - lovely!
@ Katy, haha, I was the same for a while. Black e/s just on the lid, then make-up communities and Youtube saved me :P
@ Noora, it really is a lovely shade, isn't it?
@ Rachel, whey! Love for the red eyeshadows!
@ Boston Princess, thanks :) I sometimes use the same shade just on the lower lashline with a cat eye.
@ DawnieP, good call, reminds me a bit of the '20s now you've mentioned it! Thanks, I think it's because it lacks the shine of most wigs.
@ Evelyn, anyone can wear red eyeshadow if they find the right shade :) Maybe mahogany or brick red?
@ Elisa, thank you!
@ Livv, thank you! Definitely! Perhaps a red smokey eye on your next night out?
@ Robyn, eeeee, I really want Love +! Need the Burning Heart palette in my life eventually :D
@ Leah, thanks! You know what...turquoise mascara and pink eyeshadow sounds awesome haha :)
@ Leanne, Thanks! I totally agree with you on people being a bit scared by it, but it always looks so striking.
@ Jodie, thanks!
@ Ashleigh, thanks! I love everything to do with eyebrows too haha :)
@ Jennifer, thanks!
@ Charlotte, thank you :) I don't *need* to wear a wig for any special reason, I just think they make a nice change every now and then :)
