Sleek and The Balm are the stars of my blush world lately! Who wouldn't fall for The Balm's kitsch packaging or Sleek's amazing prices?

I'm sure everyone owns a variation on NARS 'Orgasm' blush, right? Well, The Balm 'Hot Mama' is mine! A clean pink infused with gorgeous golden shimmer. This isn't the kind of blush I'd usually go for, favouring matte blushes, but it brightens up tired skin and works with practically any look. 'Hot Mama' also works fabulously as a highlight shade. I snagged mine in TK Max for £6 - bargain!
The Balm 'Frat Boy' is yet another shade I wouldn't choose for myself normally (I received this in a beauty box) but I really love it! Cool toned plum-pinks shouldn't work on my medium yellow toned skin - but 'Frat Boy' does. This looks awesome built quite heavily for 80s style blush or as a subtle, pretty flush of colour.
I bought Sleek 'Lifes a Peach' to replace Shu Uemura 'Medium Peach' and came home with 'Sahara', too. Sleek 'Sahara' looks darn terrifying in the pan - a deep, rusty, orangey terracotta, but is so flattering when worn. 'Sahara' works wonderfully by adding a rich hint of colour to give a healthy complexion. Sleek blushes are very pigmented, so always use a light hand and a fluffy brush.

The Balm 'Frat Boy' is priced at £16 from Feel Unique.
Sleek blushes are available from Superdrug and online at £4.30 each.
Which blushes are you loving lately? Which are you planning on adding to your collection? Right now I've also got my eye on Sleek 'Flamingo' and 'Suede'...
These all look gorgeous! I must admit I'm a cheapskate; my favourite two are Natural Collection's Peach Melba and Pink Cloud x
ReplyDeleteSleeks Pomegranate is probably my most worn lately, and Frat Boy. I wouldn't of picked that one for myself either but i'm so glad i have it, its so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI've seen The Balm stuff around and always think it's quite expensive for a not-so-popular brand. HOWEVER after reading this post, I may be swaying into making the investment! At the moment I am using a shiny pink eyeshadow that was in a Front Cover box! It's the only thing I could find that gave me the colour and little but of shimmer I wanted!

I've yet to try some Sleek blushes! My stupid superdrug never seems to have them in stock for some reason :(
ReplyDeleteCurrent favourite is rude by Illamasqua. I've got my eye on practically every colour they've created
xx
I have my eyes on Sleek flamingo aswell but my gosh it looks quite scary on the pan. I really like the look of theBalm fratboy blush. It looks so pretty. :D
ReplyDeleteI love Frat Boy and Hot Mama, but I haven't tried any Sleek blushes yet.
ReplyDeleteI have the balm's hot mamma (I got it from TK Maxx too, bargain!) and I love it! It's so pretty and you're right it really brightens up the face without being too shimmery...just now my favourite blush is M.A.Cs gingerly, so natural but lovely xx
ReplyDeleteFrat Boy is one of my top favorites as well!
ReplyDeleteHot Mamma and Frat Boy look awesome! Yes, Sahara does look a bit scary in the pan! I just recently acquired some new Darling Girl blushes that I'm loving! Along with a few of the new Bouncy Blushes.

I wrote about Sleek blush on my blog today too - twice actually (it must be love!). I've got "Life's a Peach" and I am really loving it:

The other blush I'm really loving at the moment are shades 1 and 5 from MUA. Their shade 5 is a Nars Orgasm -ish piece of genius for £1. I'm really loving blusher at the moment, probably because I'm so pale and pasty this time of year :)
I love the Sleek blushes too. Flamingo is one of my favourites and Suede makes a really great contour for pale skin. I'd say go for it!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving Sahara!
ReplyDeleteThese blushers are lovely!
ReplyDeleteThink I'm gonna go pick up the one by Sleek :) xx
I was given Hot Mama to review and feel in love instantly, such a lovely colour I have seriously used mine to death!
