Week in Photos #13
MAIL. Somehow I managed to buy quite a bit and everything arrived at once! Some stuff from Darling Girl, which I've already written about, Fyrinnae and Shiro Cosmetics. The other parcel is from a blog sale.
AAAW. My 'I'm 18...' cup broke :'( but my mother bought me this awesome golliwog cup! Isn't is ridiculously cute? She also bought me a red, flowery one, but says I can't have any more red stuff or my uni room will 'look like a womb. A big, red womb.'
GTFU. Isn't getting out of bed the hardest thing when you have nothing to fill your days with? I really, really want a job but searching and applying has gotten me nowhere so far this year. It's awful. I'm not even bothered about the money any more, I just want SOMETHING TO DO.

Lovely note! Was that written by you for yourself?
ReplyDeleteJust be patient with the job hunt..when you less expected there you are..someone offering you something.
Have a fab week.
I love your photography! x
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I can't believe they make blackface mugs!
ReplyDeleteI love that Golliwog mug! Your Mum's comment about a big red womb made me chuckle too :D

I'm looking for a full time job at the moment too and I can so relate, I want ANYTHING so I have something to do! x
ReplyDeleteI love the cup
ReplyDelete@ Mercedes, yes it is a bit of self help, that note! Haha :) I'm really hoping something crops up. I'll probably end up volunteering somehwere just to fill in the time.
ReplyDelete@ Kia, thanks!
@ Jane, ha, whenever I spot something now, if it's red, she'll just say 'Womb.' and I'll know it isn't a good idea haha.
@ Lisa, it's so frustrating, isn't it? Especially when you have a great worth ethic! I'd employ me! Ha :)
@ Sue, it is epic :)
I find the image on the mug to be disturbing, it's a throw back to racist imagery of the previous decades. I realise that is NOT why you have it but I'm turned off by it nonetheless.
ReplyDelete@ Sarah, I don't blame you, I can see why you would think that. However, I do think that by now most people see the golliwog as nothing more than a nostalgic character.
