[[ With the bleach in...]]
The bleach (Jerome Russell) developed surprisingly quickly! I think that's because I haven't dyed my hair in over a year so there's less pigment and product to cut through. I left it for the maximum 90 minutes, which took my super dark brown hair to a pale gingery yellow.
I rubbed the dye (Special Effects 'Iguana Green' + 'Sonic Green') into the ends and combed it through, left it for 1 hour, washed it out and conditioned my hair. Done! My hair actually feels surprisingly soft and smooth, though as you can see it doesn't look it (flash makes it look worse than it is.) I bought some hot oils today - 1/3 off a Boots - to baby it back to better health, so hopefully it will be better looking soon!
I'm not looking forward to when it fades out - it goes the most disgusting shade of yellowy brown. I'm also all out of the dye so I can't top it up! I'm thinking of buying a pinky plum to go over it with once it has faded enough :)
Amazing, I love this look! :)
ReplyDeleteWow! I would never have thought that Green dye would look Nice! Lol Love it

ReplyDeleteThis looks great on you!
ReplyDeleteI was watching your tweets as you did this and was hoping or a post with photos. Very nice. Green is my fav color.
ReplyDeleteWow. That last picture looks really good. And ditto on the lipstick question, it really seems to suit the green, if that makes sense xD
ReplyDeleteAH! Looks fab! I had caought the tweet earlier, and I was very, very curious!!

That looks awesome! X
ReplyDeleteI love your color placement! Gorgeous green :)
ReplyDelete*swoooon* I love greeeeeen!
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks lovely, I love where you put the green :) I love bright coloured dyes! I reccommend Special Effects Virgin Rose for a pinky/purple. It's the one dye I've found that fades nicely from a deep fuchsia/purple to a lighter pink. I used to have a pink that faded to a horrible ginger/orange, not nice! :P xxx
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT! Looks great with your lipstick too!
ReplyDeleteyour hair looks very cool :D suits you really nice :D
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing!!!!!
ReplyDelete@ Super Radioactive Girl, thanks!
ReplyDelete@ PinkSweetSz, haha, I had a whole head this colour once! I'm never sure if I like it or not, but this time I'm loving it :D
@ Phoebs, thank you :) I love people with brigt, crazy locks!
@ Karla, it is such a striking shade of green, thank you :)
@ Melly, thanks! The lip colour is Evil Shades 'Roué' - it's actually a bit deeper and more opaque but since it's a gloss the flash bounces which is why it looks sheerer.
@ Jennifer, thank you!
@ Chris, haha, think a few people thought I was joking :S Green is a lovely colour, pain when you realise half you clothes will clash with it, though!
@ Ruth, thanks! Yeah, for some reason I love the contrast of red lips with green hair. The red is 'Roué' by Evil Shades, it's a touch deeper and more opaque IRL.
@ Alhrayth, hehe, glad you like it!
@ The Peach, aw, thank you! I'm back into big eyeliner lately :)
@ funkymacgirl, thanks! I was doubting it myself since it turns a dark khaki brown as it develops haha.
@ Widdlesh, haha, definitely back to my old ways! Surprised I lasted over a year without colouring it at all!
@ Lori, ooooh, I demand to see pics when you do it!
@ Sangus217, thanks!
@ sarah, thank you! I think iguana green is one of my fave dyes.
@ Persephone, thank you!
@ Sarah, thanks!
@ Studon, thanks!
@ Phyrra, thanks! I call it a lazy girls placement since I can totally avoid root touch ups lmao.
@ Skulda, ditto! More people should try green hair!
@ Gemx, thanks! I was thinking of Virgin Rose myself since I love SFX dyes, but the only place we can get them in the UK they cost £9.40 plus about £3 shipping. They used to be £7 but the prices have been hiked up :/ I ordered Directions 'Rose Red', which looks similar but a touch more crimson.
@ Vulcan Butterfly, thanks! Love clashy lippy and hair!
@ CopyCat, thanks :)
@ Charli, haha, thank you :D
Love it! I always wanted to have blue ends but never had the guts to do it x
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I'm going to do a similar thing, but with lilac. Although I doubt I'll be able to place the colour half as nicely as you did xx
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this look. I've been wanting to try something similar with my hair, this is definitely great inspiration! :)
ReplyDeleteI love it! I am going to bite the bullet one day too. LOL
ReplyDeletei LOVE this hair. it looks gorgeous on you, and really complements the red lips too!
ReplyDeletei dyed my hair greeny blue once (ALL of my hair - it was about boob length!)and i cringe a bit when i look back on it. i should have just done the ends like this! beautiful.
@ TASS, go for it! Coloured tips are the easiest placement to keep nice.
ReplyDelete@ Sylvie helen, oooh, sounds lovely! I'd go lilac if I could but it wouldn't suit me :/
@ MissTat, thanks, hope it works if you try it out!
@ Susan, haha, go for it!
@ ly, thanks :) Haha, I've been all green before too :S
Wow the hair is gorgeous! x
ReplyDeleteOmg! Love this look! I wish I was as daring as you..
