Double Dares with BBH - Kimberley @ DottieK

This week, I asked Kimberley from over at DottieK if she'd be up for challenging me. DottieK is easily one of my favourite UK blogs, with to the point reviews, decent photos and polished FOTDs. I was excited that she agreed and soon came back to me with the idea for animal print make-up. I loooove animal prints - from the traditional, kinda tacky leopard and zebra print to the more delicate insect prints and everything in between! I finally settled on a butterfly inspired make-up look...

[[ Butterflies! ]]

I think fiery, bright butterflies are usually the most eye catching so of course I had to use those colours. I wanted to use speckles and dots to break up the block colours and add some randomness  that the symmetry of butterflies lack.

[[ Spatters! Dots! Dashes! ]]

[[ Bronzer! Highlighter! Powder! ]]

[[ Red! Orange! Yellow! ]]

EYES - UDPP, Soap and Glory 'Arch de Triumph', Yaby white, Yaby yellow, Yaby black, Ben Nye red, Kryolan liquid eyeliner, Illamasqua Sealing Gel, Kryolan white aqua colour, mascara.

FACE - Kryolan Ultra Foundation, Collection 2000 Matt + Minerals, Accessorize 'Bermuda' bronzer, Kryolan powder, Sleek 'Peach' Glo palette.

LIPS - MAC 'Blankety' lipstick

I had fun doing this, I haven't worn bright colours as more than an accent in what seems like a decade! Plus, any excuse to spatter face paint all over your eyelids is always a good one! Although, it further confirmed my need for the Sugarpill 'Burning Heart' palette - all of my yellow and orange eyeshadows are a bit 'meh' and need to be packed on for any sort of result.

Thanks for challenging me, Kimberley! You can see what animal print look she has come up with over on her blog, DottieK.
