FOTD - Golden Dragon

Nope, this isn't a post about a takeaway house (though I could MURDER a curry right now) but rather an FOTD, instead :) A few days ago I asked on Twitter for colour combination suggestions because lately all I've wanted to use is purple! Wendi over at Makeup Zombie suggested I try out gold and green...

[[ Pretty! ]]

[[ Clearly mixed too much 'High Beam' with my foundation! ]]

EYES - UDPP, Sassy Minerals 'Sensible Shoes', Sassy Minerals 'Bad Attitude', Heavenly Naturals 'Dragon', MAC 'Vanilla' pigment, MUA gold eyeliner, mascara, UD 'Lucky' pencil eyeliner.

FACE - Shu Uemura UV Under Base Mousse, Kryolan Ultra Foundation, Collection 2000 Matt + Minerals, Benefit 'High Beam', Accessorize 'Bermuda' bronzer, Rimmel powder.

LIPS - MAC 'Honeylove', Colourworks toffee colour lip gloss.

I wish you could all see this is person! The photos do no justice to how STUNNING Heavenly Naturals 'Dragon' and Sassy Minerals 'Bad Attitude' are - I had an 'OH MY GOD' moment with 'Bad Attitude'. Y'know, like the first time you open a truly breath taking jar of eyeshadow and you just stare at it in awe? That.

However, I don't think green suits me to be honest, it never looks quite right. Shame really, because I own so many rich green shades already and have to force myself not to buy any more! I barely use them :/ Oops!

How do you wear green eyeshadow? What colours do you use on the rest of your face?

  1. This is so beautiful! Your liner is flawless! I don't tend to wear a lot of green. I think I would probably do a smokey look with green, using some grey and black.

  2. I really love the colours, Im always unsure about using green on my eyes because they are blue and sometimes look a bit washed out but this is gorgeous xx

  3. I like green on you.
I use a lot of green on its own or mixed with other greens.
I also love doing a brown smokey look with a touch of green on the lower waterline. Ot I love doing a brown smokey eye with a green mascara.

  8. I used to wear green with purple - one on top, the other below. I haven't used green in a fair while actually, probably because I forgot how good it looks: thanks for reminding me! Green says fresh to me, so I'd go for dewy skin, a little pop of pink on the cheek and a nude lip. (I am UBER pale, FYI).

PS I love your blog. Did I say that already? :D

  9. I love green eyeshadow, but I also have green eyes so it really brings them out. I also, like Konni mix green and purple.

I think you could wear an even brighter more jewel toned green rather than just the khaki shades, so please do more green tutorials! x

  10. This looks great. I can only wear cool-toned/truly neutral greens. I have to avoid anything even vaguely olivey like the greens in this look, they make me look weird, because of the brown in them. I don't wear brown eyeshadow either, it looks terrible. And yet my eyelids are light brown!

  15. That's a really pretty combination of shades!
I have a question for you- how do you use a UD pencil and manage to get such a thin line? I've heard of people using brushes but I'm not exactly sure how to use a brush with a pencil.
