REVIEW - TopShop Cream Blush

Way back when TopShop released their 'core' collection of make-up products, the first thing to catch my eye were the cream blushes. I'd only tried a MAC one before, which was unblendable, patchy and looked greasy on my skin - as you can imagine, I was pretty wary of cream blushes from the on, but TopShop's beautiful shades were enough to sway me.

I first bought 'Neon Rose' (a blogger and youtuber favourite) and 'Crushed Berry', which I adore. 'Neon Rose' is so wearable, despite being quite bright you can blend it enough for everday wear. 'Crushed Berry' would look stunning on dark skinned ladies - I admit, I only bought it to wear as a lip colour since I doubt it would work as a blush for me. Last week I picked up 'Nutmeg', a brownish pink which reminded me of the nude lip shades I usually go for. So far 'Nutmeg' has proven to be one of those rare blush shades you can wear with ANYTHING - neutral look, colourful look, dramatic look - it's been my 'go to' product this week.

They might look a bit scary in the pots, but they have a lovely, buttery soft texture which means that they can blend away to a soft, sheer colour straight over foundation. A little goes a very long way, I've barely made a dent in any of them! They last well on me with just a fine layer of powder, which is a real testimony to the fantastic formula since I have oily skin and cream products usually disappear as soon as they're applied!

If anyone's actually bothered about packaging, the pots are grime magnets and mine are stained with the blushes themselves and foundation. I tried to clean them up, but they were having none of it -_- I keep mine in the black boxes they come in, in a vain attempt to keep them relatively neat. Other than that, they are sturdy and they all have mirrors in the lids, which is really handy for touch ups and such :)

I really recommend you try these out, priced at £6 each, they'll hardly break the bank. I fully intend on buying a few more since I love the colours and formula. Available from larger TopShops nationwide and the TopShop website.

Have you tried any TopShop make-up? What do you think?

  5. I've only recently started using cream blushes since I never thought they could work on my oily skin but I was wrong because I'm definitely loving them at the moment. I'll have to give these a try sometime. All three colors look really nice :)

@ WillWorkForMakeup, I was pleasantly surprised by how well they hold up on oily skin, too. These are probably my top three from the line, but I'm definitely buying more!
