OOTD - Out with a Bang

OOOH WOULD YOU EVER GUESS IT'S 2014?! Because my blog feed sure as Hell hasn't, I feel like I know absolutely everyone's resolutions and plans for the year ahead, it's madness! So I'm not going to bore you with that stuff, just show you what I wore to party into the new year...

I spent the night drinking old school Sailor Jerry's from the days when it tasted like caramel, dancing with my sister/ boyfriend/ friends to a mix of rock and power ballad classics, running away from a guy who looked like Kurt Cobain and stuffing my face with veggie burger. All in all - excellent fun!

Hat - New Look
Vest - Primark
Jumper - Internacionalé
Necklace - Topshop
Bag - Vintage
Skirt - New Look
Tights - Primark
Shoes - Demonia

I felt a bit like somebody from 'Clueless' meets stereotypical American high school 'alt kid' which I guess is a pretty good mix for me!

I hope you all had a great night, and happy new year!

OOTD - Occasionally A Girl

Girly girl isn't really my 'thing'. Pink, pretty, lacey - we go together like chocolate and pickled onions (which truth be told, I'd probably still eat. Go on, judge me.) Anyway! Today I'm taking my sister and Dad out for lunch for his birthday and figured I fancied a change.

Headscarf - Vintage (from a family friend)
Necklace - Craft fair (gift)
Dress - Primark
Jacket - New Look (customised)
Shoes - Primark

The skull necklace (even if it is full of sparkly gems), jacket and head scarf make the dress way more 'me' by lending a punk/ rockabilly vibe. Add a beehive to tie back in with the slightly '60s, girly style of dress and it becomes less of a mash up - sorted!

I love love love this jacket and wear it with practically anything! I found the jacket itself in New Look on sale for £7, then Ma added the backing (a top I had since I was 13) and patches. Next I'm after a grey denim jacket for my Rancid patches, no doubt I'll snag one in another sale :)

Do you have to punk/ rockabilly/ grunge up girly stuff to make it wearable too?
