OOTD: He Is Legend

Here's on of those posts where I wear clothes and strike dodgy and awkward poses! I did, however, have some fun taking these pictures - especially since my tripod has vanished and I had to use a toddler's patio table in its place...Gotta be inventive sometimes, folk!

CHOKER - Ebay
TOP - He Is Legend gig
SHORTS - Primark
FISHNETS - New Look
BOOTS - Missguided
BRACELET - Actually a necklace, from Primark
SASS - All mine

Sometimes shorts are just denim underwear, aren't they? I mean - when did it become all hunky dory to stroll about in shorts that just about cover your butt? Who knows. Who cares! Combine with a band shirt, fishnets, a choker and some boots and you're good to go!

What's your take on short shorts? Are you a band shirt fiend, too? Let me know! Comments up top!

OOTD - Pushing Up Daisies

I'm a little bit daisy obsessed at the moment, which is handy since daisy print seems to be everywhere recently. I've never been a floral girl - either in prints or scents, but I think this may be changing seeing as I also can't stop wearing Marc Jacobs 'Daisy' perfume...daisies everywhere!

Something I wore to take the boyfriend out on Monday - how very modern! We wined (cocktailed) and dined at 'Revolucion de Cuba' before heading off to 'Matt and Phred's' for the blue jam, which was ace. If you ever fancy a chilled out evening of music and a drink or two, definitely check out what's on at 'Matt and Phred's', it wont disappoint.

Cardigans and lace aren't very 'me' either, but for some reason I couldn't pass on this one when I saw it. It's probably the '50s/ rockabilly lover in me!

Naturally, with so many typically 'not me' things, I had to bring it back around with a spikey necklace, fishnets and creepers.

CARDIGAN - Primark
NECKLACE - Primark
DRESS - H&M
TIGHTS - Primark
SLOUCH SOCKS - New Look
CREEPERS - Demonia

All in all a top night - though now I need to find a fellow rum lover I can drag to the 'Havana Club Bar' in the 'Revolucion de Cuba', those rums be callin' my name...

Link me to your last OOTD!

OOTD - Out with a Bang

OOOH WOULD YOU EVER GUESS IT'S 2014?! Because my blog feed sure as Hell hasn't, I feel like I know absolutely everyone's resolutions and plans for the year ahead, it's madness! So I'm not going to bore you with that stuff, just show you what I wore to party into the new year...

I spent the night drinking old school Sailor Jerry's from the days when it tasted like caramel, dancing with my sister/ boyfriend/ friends to a mix of rock and power ballad classics, running away from a guy who looked like Kurt Cobain and stuffing my face with veggie burger. All in all - excellent fun!

Hat - New Look
Vest - Primark
Jumper - Internacionalé
Necklace - Topshop
Bag - Vintage
Skirt - New Look
Tights - Primark
Shoes - Demonia

I felt a bit like somebody from 'Clueless' meets stereotypical American high school 'alt kid' which I guess is a pretty good mix for me!

I hope you all had a great night, and happy new year!

OOTD - Occasionally A Girl

Girly girl isn't really my 'thing'. Pink, pretty, lacey - we go together like chocolate and pickled onions (which truth be told, I'd probably still eat. Go on, judge me.) Anyway! Today I'm taking my sister and Dad out for lunch for his birthday and figured I fancied a change.

Headscarf - Vintage (from a family friend)
Necklace - Craft fair (gift)
Dress - Primark
Jacket - New Look (customised)
Shoes - Primark

The skull necklace (even if it is full of sparkly gems), jacket and head scarf make the dress way more 'me' by lending a punk/ rockabilly vibe. Add a beehive to tie back in with the slightly '60s, girly style of dress and it becomes less of a mash up - sorted!

I love love love this jacket and wear it with practically anything! I found the jacket itself in New Look on sale for £7, then Ma added the backing (a top I had since I was 13) and patches. Next I'm after a grey denim jacket for my Rancid patches, no doubt I'll snag one in another sale :)

Do you have to punk/ rockabilly/ grunge up girly stuff to make it wearable too?

Boots - Out with the Old, In with the New (Look)

When I'm out and about, I don't simply walk - I mission. I get serious 'walk rage' (like car rage, minus the vehicle.) A crowd of people walking slower than snails on tranquillisers is my idea of Hell, so I need boots that are made for power walking.

Out with the old...

Alas, for my old pair of H&M boots were well and truly past it after just four months. My heavy instep (why does that sound gross?) had worn the heels to daft angles, the soles were hole ridden and the shiny overcoat was peeling off. Yes, they were crap. No, I don't recommend H&M shoes.

In with the new...

Finally, after putting it off for ages I went searching for new boots and luckily found some decent looking ones in the first shop - New Look. They're a pretty standard, no frills design which is precisely what I like. At £30, they're not too pricey, plus student discount took them down by 10% - winner!

[ Obligatory macro flower shot. ]

The flowers are nothing to do with Valentines day, I bought them a few days ago just because. While we're on the subject - doing anything special today with your other half? Or sitting in munching pizza and suppin' cider with your friends?

On another note - aren't my drawers pretty kick ass? I painted them over Christmas, as well as a set of hot pink drawers which they sit on top of. They make me happy :)
